Profile

Connie Deckert – Profile

Raised in Elmira, Connie Deckert started playing golf at 11 years of age and entered her first provincial tournament at 16. She was Runner-up Ontario Junior Champ at 18 and participated in the LPGA Tour at 21. One year later life offered Connie a different direction; she chose to join her father’s Kitchener-based automotive parts company, Motivair Canada Ltd. By age 34, Connie was the president. Indirectly, golf and business began to merge. During this time, she took a short sojourn from golf and opened a travel agency in Waterloo with two other partners. Connie’s interest in travel continues and each year takes a group or two on a golf junket to interesting places. If this is something you want to know more about (such as the when and the where of the next junket), contact Connie.

Even though Connie Deckert spent many years in the business world she never lost her passion for the game of golf. After offering a casual lesson to a friend she was encouraged to pursue her dream of teaching and coaching golf full-time. It was then that Connie decided to sell Motivair Canada Ltd. The rest is “herstory”!
